Beginnings, 5-piece lineup, first EP

Die Twice began in Exeter as a 5-piece band made up of Oliver Bayton, Finnan Lloyd, Jake Coles, Zak Zaffiro and Sam Harris. They first started off by debuting the single ‘Pumpkin Spiced Latte’ in October 2021 before having their debut gig at The Cavern in Exeter on the 6th November. They would follow this up by releasing their second single ‘Lady’ that same month before focusing their efforts on gigging. Eventually, they would release their debut EP ‘Visiting Antonio’ in March 2022 before returning to focusing their attention to gigging around Devon.

Second EP, lineup changes and Brighton debut

Following this period, Die Twice would announce the release of their second EP dubbed ‘An Interaction with Rum’ in September 2022. This momentum would be marred by the departure of Zaffiro after this release, but he would soon be replaced by William Twamley (Flavour the Wiicked) around April 2023. Unfortunately, Harris would also leave at some point after this, making Die Twice a 4-piece band for the first time. They would also notably have their Brighton debut in January 2024 at the Green Door Store when they supported Fever Rouge alongside Two Pounds Down.

UK Tour, debut album

Shortly after, the group would begin a triple release of singles; ‘Paris’ in April, ‘Evelyn’ in July and finally ‘The Art of Dying’ in September. This would be marked by a gigging period all across several musical scenes in the UK. Next, they would release their next EP ‘A Beautiful Thing’ which would be supported by a nationwide tour. In January 2025, they would release the follow up single ‘Princess’ which would receive decent radio play on BBC Sussex, trailed by Jakobo. Finally, they would release their debut EP ‘Accept me Like a Lie’ in May 2026.
