Ponceau are a Brighton-based funk, pop and jazz band formed through BIMM University in 2023.

Beginnings, debut single
Ponceau are a Brighton-based funk band which formed in November 2023 via the BIMM University. The band debuted at Green Door Store in February 2024 and would spend the next year gigging around the Brighton indie circuit, gathering a strong dedicated following in the meantime. They would eventually release their debut single “Waste My Time” in December that year, but it would be marred by the departure of vocalist Sarah Gower.
Lineup change, further releases
Undeterred, the band would release the follow up single in January 2025 dubbed “Know Just How Loved You Are”, they would gain a permanent replacement for Gower in Loui Baker who joined right after the release. Ponceau would return to gigging before announcing a new single for July 2025, “One More Time”. Unfortunately, they would be strike with the same curse again with the departure of Oliver Futcher right afterwards.
Current, festival season
Ponceau would bring in Liv White as a temporary replacement but she would eventually become a permanent staple of the band, which coincided perfectly with the upcoming festival season. The band would spend the next year performing and gigging around and outside of Brighton, including GOAT Fest and Victorious Festival.
