Originally from Romford, the band known as Lana Death Ray moved to Brighton in November 2023 to attend BIMM. Mixing shoegaze and grunge, Lana Death Ray (named after singer Lana Del Ray) was signed to the Moonrock Promotions label soon after and became part of the promotions line up where they were managed by founder Riley Smith. The group would primarily focus their efforts on gigging before releasing “Thorn” in February 2025 as their debut single. Lana Death Ray would later begin focusing their efforts on gigging outside of Brighton, primarily bringing the band to London. Later, they would release “Smile” as a follow up in July before announcing their first EP “The Holy Death Ray” in October. The EP would be supported by a tour hitting Cornwall, Birmingham, Bristol and others.

In March 2026 the band would be announced on Homegrown festival, as well as releasing the next single “Mould”. The band would then go on to focus on gigging the Brighton indie circuit.
